Conclusion of the project “Training Female Academies in Party Work”
Masarat Jordanian Foundation for Development and Progress, in partnership with the King Abdullah II Fund for Development, concluded the "Training Female Academics on Party Work" project on Saturday. The project aimed to enhance the role and vital status of women in society, train female academics to understand the system governing party work at universities, encourage women to engage in party activities, increase the number of female academics participating in political parties, and raise awareness about the challenges and opportunities within party work.
The project consisted of four workshops: training female academics and staff at the Deanship of Student Affairs, training female students from various specializations at Jordanian public and private universities, training female academics to become trainers themselves, and training female academics by other previously trained academics. A total of 225 academics, 90 female students, and 50 university staff from 21 universities participated in these workshops.
The training sessions covered topics such as empowering women in party work at universities, political communication skills, media appearance for female academics, constitutional articles related to political participation, political empowerment of women, methods and means of engaging in party work within universities, and the importance of such participation. Additionally, the workshops explored and analyzed the constitutional provisions for women's participation and constitutional amendments that expanded space for women's political and civil engagement.
The sessions also addressed the narrative of the development of political and party life in Jordan since its establishment and its connection to the current party situation, highlighting the influence of this historical narrative on the current political modernization under the outcomes of the Royal Committee for the Modernization of the Political System. Furthermore, there was an explanation of the system governing party participation in universities and the relevant regulations.
