So that we do not fall into the trap
We place our bets on the wisdom of the Jordanian state, which fully understands the balance of power and is acutely aware of its strengths and weaknesses. Therefore, because the state knows its capabilities and accurately reads the map of events, Jordan has not stood idly by without making political or diplomatic efforts to protect the kingdom or to stop the bloodshed of our brothers in Palestine and Lebanon.
We have witnessed the practical pressures exerted by Jordan, led by His Majesty King Abdullah II, to deliver humanitarian aid to our brothers. And let us not forget—for those whose memories may be as short as a goldfish's—that His Majesty and members of his family, including the Crown Prince and Princess Salma, were on board military planes, contributing to this humanitarian effort. So, let us put an end to questioning Jordan’s efforts, and stand united to confront the machinery of rumors and lies targeting the kingdom, standing together as one behind the nation and its front.
About three years ago, His Majesty the King laid out a political reform roadmap for Jordan, centered around genuine political party life.
Indeed, the "Muslim Brotherhood" decided to become part of the political game and engage in activities under the state's umbrella as a functional political party, achieving results far surpassing those of other parties.
This brings us to a fundamental question: Will the Brotherhood Party handle all issues, regardless of their significance, from the standpoint of being a political party that exercises political activities with known tools, or will it remain an organization that does not believe in pluralism and democracy? Does the party accept pluralism when it serves its interests and reject it when it contradicts its objectives and desires? During the Dead Sea incident, the Brotherhood initially showed a confused stance, with reactions varying in response to the situation, indicating their alignment with the latter part of this question. However, by the end of the day, after the rational leadership within the Brotherhood listened to their conscience, a final statement was issued indicating a retreat from their initial position and aligning with the national interest, as reflected in their latest statement.
The response of Jordanian society was also significant and courageous, which perhaps compelled the Brotherhood to reconsider their stance and carefully reflect on their initial reactions. This rational correction helped avoid reckless actions that could have severe consequences for everyone.
All parties, whether leftist, from the Brotherhood, or unaffiliated individuals, must seriously reconsider their positions in a manner that aligns with Jordan’s interests, the security of the state, and Jordanian society. This stage does not tolerate individual adventures or roles that place the country at risk. Let us all stand with the nation and its system, and abandon any political showmanship.
We are all in the same boat, led by one captain—His Majesty the King. Our state is strong and wise, fully aware of how to navigate this critical and sensitive phase. What is required of us all is to stand united so that we do not fall into traps.
