Talal Ghoneimat: Jordan’s Unwavering Stance on Palestine Amid Persistent Doubts

Every time a political or military action takes place in the region, voices questioning Jordan’s stance on the Palestinian cause resurface. Statements, comments, and actions from certain parties—well-known for their affiliations and agendas—seek to undermine Jordan’s consistent and ongoing support for Palestine. This phenomenon is neither new nor surprising. Over the decades, Jordan has steadfastly supported Palestine, yet it continues to face these dissenting voices that aim to diminish its efforts.

Jordan has long stood courageously in defense of Palestine and its people, countering attempts by these entities to sow division and discord within Jordanian society. These efforts often come from those who exploit narratives to discredit Jordan’s role. Let’s agree that the current stage Jordan is navigating is critical—a fight for survival that is further endangered by these attempts to weaken its internal front, fracture its social fabric, and influence the views of citizens who believe in Jordan’s role and leadership.

The battle Jordan is waging diplomatically and politically, under the leadership of His Majesty the King and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, is not merely a firm position but a calculated and escalating strategy characterized by wisdom and diplomacy. Over the years, Jordan has consistently taken legal steps to counter Israel’s attempts to impose new realities in Palestinian territories. Despite these efforts, certain voices persist in undermining Jordan’s position, precisely when the country needs unity and wise counsel.

Jordan’s challenges extend beyond Israel—the occupying state committing heinous crimes against the Palestinian people. They also include Iranian interventions aimed at infiltrating Jordan through various means, such as smuggling drugs and weapons or violating the kingdom’s airspace to influence public opinion. In this context, society must embrace reason and prudence. Some may support Iran—that is their personal right—but they have no right to question Jordan’s national positions. What is required today is for everyone, whether supporters or critics, to stand with the nation, not against it.

We must remain vigilant about the dangers surrounding the region and the conspiracies aimed at redrawing its map. We must collectively resist these attempts with awareness and unity, ensuring we do not inadvertently harm Jordan or play a role in burying the Palestinian cause as a byproduct of current conflicts.

In conclusion, the moment demands a commitment to national responsibility from all, unwavering support for Jordan’s steadfast position, and concerted efforts to confront the challenges threatening the region’s stability. Jordan’s continued backing of the Palestinian cause must remain strong in the face of all conspiracies.
